My thoughts: Radically cool! I’m excited to see what the N performance brand has in store for the future. “As promised, the first of Hyundai’s new family of high-performance N models got its global preview in Paris in the form of the absolutely stunning RN30 Concept. Based on a 3-door hatch version of the next-gen i30 also being unveiled in the City of Lights, the RN30 Concept takes its game to a level that surprised even many of its biggest fans, mixing serious race-car style with a killer 2.0-liter turbocharged 4-cylinder engine that serves up 375 horsepower and a heady 333 lb-ft of torque.” - Bob Nagy/KBB.com

I hope the stripes make it to production cars in some way. Modern car interiors are so boring. I’d wish they’d bring back colored interiors like in the old days, but I just don’t think it would work on modern cars.

Also I was riding in a buddies Chevy Spark that was some stripes/desgin on the interior. It’s a nice touch to add some flavor to an economy car. I hope some that sorta spread to other cheap cars so their not soul depleting boring.

(pic of the spark interior, if it loads)

See if it’ll get it on the edit!

Will need some toning down, but otherwise, if I didn’t already own my FoST, I’d put it on my list of cars to check out (provided it was available to purchase).

I agree with you. The design cues from this thing need to make it into production!

Yeah, a bit toned down, and I think it would be a good seller!

Finding it hard to be positive about this one. It gives off a very strong “concept-only” vibe, it’s hard to even grasp what (if anything) they’d introduce on a production model.

It’s easy to make a fast one-off. I’ll believe it when I see it on the roads

Yeah, it is very hard to see this radical-like design as a production model.

Hoonable Hyundai hot hatch? (W)holly hell! Looks cool but sure the bean counters will water it down.

Yeah, they probably will, but it will be quite similar!

I’d take that before I took the new Type-R

Will the production version be replacing the Veloster...?

Doesn’t seem like there’d be much room for both. It’s hard enough to get Americans to shop for a single hatchback, let alone multiple similar ones by the same brand. Granted, Ford does make it work (but I think the Fiesta should be a 3-door to really solidify that differentiation).

I’ve heard rumors that this could become a sporty N-variant of the next redesign of the Veloster. I agree, they won’t sell multiple hatchbacks.

Oh yeah, partly because it looks fantastic, and partly because I can’t stand the new Type R

I’m interested to see what more they would do with the Veloster, especially if it was going to be a step up from the turbo model now.

The Veloster Turbo has actually kinda stood out to me as very realistic possibility if I had to replace my Cooper S anytime soon. Either that or an Abarth 500. But from sitting inside (haven’t driven either), the Veloster is way more legit and far less chintzy.
